RHC CONSULTING SERVICES

The expansion and/or development of a current facility will require compliance with regulations, laws, and an attention to detail. By accomplishing each of these tasks in an orderly and efficient manner, the transition and certification of the facility will be easier to accomplish without added expense or aggravation.

 

1. Construction Issues:

RHC will coordinate with Facility management and review blueprints for space necessities, including traffic flow for patient care.   

 

2. Financial:

RHC can prepare and support following:

  1. Review and listing of budgeted cost of equipment, Fixed and non-fixed to Facility.

  2. Gather purchase bids for Governing Board to select a specific offer.

  3. Perform contractual review and recommendations for Governing Board approval, of ancillary services: linen service, janitorial, security, grounds keeping, dietary, etc.

  4. Budget preparations: Capital for three years; Operational for next fiscal year; Staffing for next fiscal year.

3. Staffing:

Any proposed expansion most likely will increase the facilities’ capacity. New areas of patient care may be implemented. This may require substantial increases in the numbers of staff. RHC will work with nursing management for the following:

  1. Develop a staffing grid to cover hours of operation and staffing;

  2. Develop orientation schedules for staffing; and

  3. Develop competency templates for staffing.

4. Mentoring:  

  1. RHC can prepare individual and specific presentations to help the facility governing panel understand the essentials of operational requirements and/or regulations.

  2. RHC can mentor and assist nursing management to comply with hospital standards of care, regulatory issues, and staffing.

  3. Board has to review and adopt Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, Committee structure. RHC can review first before presentation.

  4. Administration has to approve Polices and Procedures, Compliance Issues (HIPAA, etc), Personnel and Payroll practices. RHC can review first and offer recommendations for compliance.

Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO):

RHC can assist with achieving accreditation. 

  1. Coordinate the application process for JCAHO

  2. Coordination with JCAHO for preliminary requirements and timing

  3. Policy and Procedures: review, revision, or development as applicable

  4. Compliance with JCAHO recommended standards of care

  5. Attendance at the actual JCAHO survey
